UPS Air Service Adjustments Due to Worldport Incident
An aircraft accident occurred on Tuesday, November 4, at Worldport in Louisville, Kentucky, UPS’s main hub in the United States. As a result, UPS is making the following operational adjustments:
- The money-back guarantee (also known as the UPS® Service Guarantee) for packages either shipped from or delivered to the United States is currently active for some Air and International services. Some others remain suspended. See the UPS Service Guarantee page for details.

Delivery commitment times for:
- UPS Next Day Air® Early and UPS Worldwide Express Plus® services to the U.S will be extended by 90 minutes.
- UPS Next Day Air®, UPS 2nd Day Air A.M.®, and UPS Worldwide Express® services to commercial and residential locations in the U.S., and all other time-definite Air and International Air services will be extended to end-of-day (11:59 p.m. on the guaranteed day of delivery).
Contingency plans are in place to help ensure that shipments arrive at their final destinations as quickly as conditions permit.
- Dimensions for US Domestic Shipments: Beginning August 18, 2025 when shipping US domestic packages (including US to Puerto Rico and Puerto Rico to Puerto) UPS will round all fractional measurements up to the next whole inch, including length, width, and height.
- Customs Form, 35-character Limit: For item descriptions on the customs form, UPS will display the first 35 characters only. Any additional characters will not show.

Remote Area Surcharge: Starting June 1, 2025, a $15 surcharge may be applied at the time of label creation for Ground Saver® deliveries to certain remote ZIP codes in Alaska, Hawaii, and the contiguous U.S.

Unlawful Drug Fee Surcharge: Starting June 22, 2025, UPS will implement a $1,000 per-package surcharge for shipments containing illegal drugs. This fee applies only to shipments that violate drug laws in the origin, destination, or any location in transit.
The surcharge does not apply to legally permitted pharmaceuticals or other authorized substances.

Prohibited items, restrictions, and dangerous/hazardous goods:
UPS has set forth specific restrictions on goods shipped using UPS from Endicia. It is the shipper's responsibility to ensure their shipments do not violate these UPS guidelines. Violation of these restrictions may result in your Endicia account being banned from using UPS from Endicia.
Shipping Vape Products may result in your Endicia account being banned from using UPS from Endicia and a $150 fine per package.
- The Print Sample option is not available when a UPS service is selected. Reprint and instant refunds are available in the event of a printing error.
- You cannot ship to a PO Box address with UPS.
UPS has restrictions on what can and cannot be shipped. Restrictions include:
- Ammunition, except as expressly provided in the "UPS Tariff/Terms and Conditions of Service - United States"
- Bank bills, notes or currency (other than coin)
- Corpses, cremated or disinterred remains
- Fireworks
- Hazardous waste
- Ivory
- Marijuana, including marijuana intended for medicinal use
- Postage stamps
- Shark fins
- Shipments prohibited by law
- Watches exceeding the value of 500USD
Also prohibited are: goods moving under ATA Carnet and all temporary exports and imports; goods moving under FCR, FCT and CAD (Cash Against Document); shipments with inherent vice, which by their nature are likely to soil, impair or damage persons, merchandise or equipment; goods, the carriage of which is prohibited by law in the country of origin, transit or destination (eg. ivory and ivory products), goods which attract excise duty or which require special facilities, safety precautions or permits. Under applicable law, certain goods may be transported only under prescribed conditions and certain goods are prohibited from transportation by air (eg. liquids in glass containers).
It is the shipper´s responsibility to comply with current government regulations or laws applicable in each country. Shipments are subject to inspection and possible delay by customs or representatives of other government authorities.
We reserve the right to refuse or suspend transportation of any package which does not set out contact details for shipper and receiver and of goods which, in our opinion, are not practicable for transportation or are not adequately described, classified or packed and labelled in a manner suitable for transportation and accompanied by necessary documentation.
We will not transport any goods which are prohibited by law or regulation of any federal, state or local government in the origin or destination countries or which may breach any applicable export, import or other laws or endanger the safety of our employees, agents and subcontractors or the means of transportation or, which in our opinion, soil, paint or otherwise damage other goods or equipment or which are economically or operationally impractical to transport.
