Here are common examples, use cases, and rules to help you get started. Use these in your account or as a guide to help you customize your own.
If you use Product Tags to organize your product catalog, Endicia will apply the tags to imported orders. This means that you can use tags as criteria for an Automation Rule.
For example, you have a promotion that offers upgraded domestic shipping when a customer purchases a hat and a shirt.
For this rule, we’ll set three criteria and one action. Orders must meet all three criteria for the rule to apply the specified action.
Set the Criteria:

Set the Action:

Set Service - PM Large Flat Rate Box
Now, every order with a domestic address that includes a shirt and a hat will automatically use a Priority Mail Large Flat Rate Box.
If you ship certain items in a specific package, you can create a rule that applies a carrier, service, and package when that item is ordered.
For example, you ship a box of shoes, SKU ABC123, and always use a Flat Rate box if your customer is in the United States and requests expedited service.
For this rule, we’ll set three criteria and one action. Orders must meet all three criteria for the rule to apply the specified action.
Set the Criteria:

Set Service - PM Small Flat Rate Box
Now, every domestic order with SKU ABC123 will automatically ship using a Small Flat Rate Box.
If you sell an item that always gets shipped in the same size package, regardless of carrier, you can create a rule that applies the package dimensions automatically.
For example, you sell a candle set, SKU SPI222, that ships in a 14 L x 8 W x 5 H box.
For this rule, we’ll set one criteria and one action. Orders must meet the criteria for the rule to apply the specified action.
Set the Criteria:

Item Sku (Single Item Order Only) - Equals - SPI222
Set the Action:

Set Package Dimensions... - 14 L 8 W 5 H
Now, any order with the SKU SPI222 will have the set dimensions added to the order.
You can create a rule that applies an expedited service based on the Order Total.
For example, if your customers in the United States spend a certain value amount in your store, you upgrade their shipping so they can receive their order sooner.
For this rule, we’ll set two criteria and one action. Orders must meet both criteria for the rule to apply the specified action.
Set the Criteria:

Set Service - Priority Mail Express (PME) Flat/Thick Envelope
Now, every domestic order and value of more than $200 will automatically use a Priority Mail Express Package/Flat/Thick Envelope.
If you ship high-value items, adding a delivery confirmation assures that the package has been delivered to the intended destination.
For example, your customer's order exceeds $200, so you want to require a signature upon delivery for security.
For this rule, we’ll set two criteria and one action. Orders must meet both criteria for the rule to apply the specified action.
Set the Criteria:
