GlobalPost SmartSaver

GlobalPost SmartSaver allows you to realize even more savings by bundling all of your individual GlobalPost packages into a larger container, which you then send to the GlobalPost sorting facility. When the GlobalPost sorting facility receives the shipment, they'll sort the individual shipments by country and then send them on their way to the final destination.

Your individual SmartSaver shipments can use the following services:

  • GlobalPost SmartSaver Economy Intl: Door-to-country tracking, no default loss/damage coverage, $400 max value of goods.

  • GlobalPost SmartSaver Standard Intl: Door-to-door tracking, $100 default loss/damage coverage, up to $2500 max value of goods (exact amount differs by country).

  • USPS Global Advantage Program (GAP) services - First Class Intl, Priority Intl, and Priority Express Intl

Once SmartSaver is enabled, the USPS GAP services for the enabled account will automatically be SmartSaver labels. You don't need to choose a specific SmartSaver branded service.

GlobalPost SmartSaver ships to the same 200+ countries available to GlobalPost single-piece shipments.

*GlobalPost does NOT ship to the following countries: Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Sudan

Requirements

  • You must ship at least five international packages per day.

To see if you are eligible, contact GlobalPost to apply. Call 1-888-899-1255 or fill out this Contact Form.

If using the form, enter "SmartSaver Inquiry" in the Subject field. Then, select General Questions for the Inquiry Type, and choose Endicia as your Shipping Platform.

  • Large Envelopes/Flats have a maximum weight of 17.6oz, and Packages/Thick Envelopes have a maximum weight of 70oz.

  • SmartSaver shipments must be consolidated into a container for shipping.

The exact process for this will be determined by which SmartSaver method you use. See the Methods section below for details.

SmartSaver Methods

SmartSaver offers three methods for consolidating and shipping. Each method differs slightly, so you'll partner with a GlobalPost representative to determine the right solution for your business.

  • SmartSaver Pickup™ – GlobalPost will pick up your consolidated shipments from your warehouse and transport them to the closest processing facility the same day.

  • SmartSaver Bundle™ – Consolidate your individual shipments into one or more large containers and ship them to the GlobalPost processing facility with a container shipping label, provided at no additional cost.

  • SmartSaver Drop-off – Use a carrier account of your choice to ship your consolidated shipments to the GlobalPost processing facility. This option offers the deepest discounts!

The GlobalPost team will guide you through the exact process you'll use - specific to your chosen method - for creating individual shipment labels, creating container labels, and getting your shipments to the GlobalPost processing facility.

Creating GlobalPost SmartSaver Labels

Once approved for SmartSaver, your GlobalPost agent will provide detailed instructions to prepare your shipments for bundling, depending on your contract.

In most cases, you'll create your inner shipment labels for the packages that will go into the container and an outer container label for the container that holds the individual (inner) shipments.

GlobalPost SmartSaver:

  1. Create individual inner labels with a GlobalPost SmartSaver service and affix each label to the corresponding shipment.

The inner labels print the international destination address but look slightly different than your usual labels.

  2. Consolidate all your SmartSaver shipments into a larger container.

  3. Create a container label if using a ship-in option.

The container label prints the address to the domestic sorting facility. Affix this label to the container of your consolidated shipments.

When your container arrives, the shipments get processed and sorted before heading to the destination.

Global Advantage Program (GAP) with SmartSaver:

Once SmartSaver is enabled on your account, any GAP labels you create will also be SmartSaver, and you will no longer be able to create single-piece GAP labels.

  1. Create individual inner labels using one of the following USPS mail classes and affix each label to the corresponding shipment:

    • USPS First Class-Mail Int'l

    • Priority Mail Int'l

    • Priority Mail Express Int'l

The inner labels print the international destination address but look slightly different than your usual labels.

  2. Consolidate all your shipments into a larger container.

  3. Create a container label if using a ship-in option.

The container label prints the address to a domestic sorting facility. Affix this label to the container of your consolidated shipments.

SmartSaver Individual Shipment Labels

Shipments with the inner label cannot be mailed outside of their containers! These shipments must be consolidated into the container.

Create SmartSaver Container Labels

  1. Go to the HISTORY tab.

  2. Click on Create Container Label and select All Eligible Packages.
